BABOK V3 introduced a new dynamic model consisting of six Core Concepts, related through a dynamic conceptual system. All the concepts are equally necessary; there is no 'prime' concept, and they are all defined by the other Core Concepts. Because of this, no one Core Concept can be fully understood until all six are understood.

The Business Analysis Core Concept Model (BACCM™) encompasses what business analysis is and what it means to those performing business analysis tasks regardless of perspective, industry, methodology, or level in the organization. The six terms have a common meaning to all business analysts, creating a common shared language.

This month, Jodie Kane will facilitate some learning and play as we explore and experience the 6 core concepts.

·       Review the six concepts to increase understanding

·       Examine the relationships between the 6 concepts through the model to help us to perform better business analysis.

·       Practice use of the 6 concepts to evaluate the impact of these concepts and relationships at any point during a work effort in order to establish both a foundation and a path forward.

·       Prepare to think differently, applying the breadth and depth of the BACCM.

Jodie Kane serendipitously stumbled into the business analysis world over 20 years ago and found her sweet spot. Her focus is about: making organizations + the people that make them great, better, and helping people to feel valued and  to be value focused. Her approach is about: invitational coaching and human engagement that empowers and opens space for teams to be self-organizing high performers focused on trust, value and continuous, active retrospection.
