Model Office

Simulation is the imitation of something real. Within Business Analysis, simulation can be used to imitate a new or changed process. Applying simulation can:

- validate design and process assumptions;
- provide an opportunity to rehearse responses to certain process conditions;
- assess the readiness of a group to implement a change.

Model Office is one technique for simulating a process. It is comprised of planning, preparing and executing steps. Model Office can be applied with or without technology.

Marie Brady will share the steps involved in a successful Model Office simulation.

Presenter Marie Brady is recognized by the IIBA as a Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) since 2008. She has worked at Vanguard in Malvern, Pennsylvania for the past fifteen years as a Business Analyst (within a business unit) and as a Business System Analyst (within an information technology unit), leading business analysis and requirements gathering for a variety of projects supporting Fund Accounting, Portfolio & Data Management and Compliance Testing. Projects have included tactical solutions, strategic solutions, vendor analysis, product implementation and enterprise analysis. Both the waterfall and agile methodologies have been applied.
