Abstract:

The transition from traditional waterfall and / or incremental delivery to an Agile working environment with self-organizing teams who deliver and delight their customers is exciting and difficult at the same time. No two agile journeys are the same and a transformation requires much more than just starting daily development stand-ups, renaming project managers as Scrum Masters and developing code in 2 week sprints. Key steps in setting up a successful transformation include the following:

- Assessing a company's culture, business goals, current processes and personnel

- Determining where a company is on their agile journey

- Identifying the approach that is best suited to maximize delivery and ensure adoption

- Identifying the changes required to all to facilitate a successful transformation including people, process and organizational changes

- Establishing a runway for success including educating the entire organization

- Ensuring all aspects of the transformation are communicated and executed effectively to relevant stakeholders

This presentation outlines reasons that companies want to or are driven to adopt and/or scale agile, current trends in approaches, pitfalls to avoid, and case studies of successful transitions and transformations from CapTech Consulting. Attendees will leave with better understanding of what it takes to embark successfully on an agile journey within the scope of Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and Lean frameworks and methodologies.
