Abstract:  “Big Data for BAs” - What should you think about when starting to work in a big data environment, and how can you be most effective at getting work done? This talk walks through understanding what “big data” encompasses, some elements of the big data workflow and tooling, and goes through several cases studies of big data projects.

Bio:  Victoria Boykis has 9+ years of professional experience in the analytics space. She currently works in the data engineering/science space, focusing on Spark and Python. She specializes in developing complete data strategies from discovery, to data ingest and movement, to modeling and visualization, with a focus on distributed systems (HDFS, Pig, Hive, Platfora, Splunk, AWS), as well as traditional data warehouses.
