Why Business Analysts are great candidates for being part of a core Data Governance Team

Aligning the core concepts of metadata management, we will discuss ways existing skill sets can be reconditioned for Governance opportunities. We will also discuss key drivers for Sustainable Data Governance Programs to either add value to your existing organization or to get a temperature check of prospective opportunities.

Our guest speaker

Carl Herzog is a seasoned Data Governance professional with extensive experience building new governance programs from initiation through maturity. Working with top-tier consulting firms, Carl formalized leadership-focused and sustainable governance programs. A graduate of West Chester University with a B.S. in Marketing, Carl has leveraged his selling skills as a Business Analyst promoting solution features internally to stakeholders. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, business-process modeling and end-user training, Carl implemented a metadata management solution for digital assets and fell in love with the role metadata plays defining and processing information.

Since his introduction to Data Governance in 2013, Governance tools have evolved tremendously. Along his journey, Carl implemented tools for unstructured data classification, business glossaries, data definitions, data lineage, data quality with KPI reporting and metrics. As a Certified Scrum Master and SAFe Product Owner, Carl has successfully integrated Data Governance into Use Case Development for Big Data Business Intelligence reporting and access rights management.
