Topic:  the changing career and competencies of a BA.  The discussion will hinge on the 15 new competencies that IIBA is moving towards to improve the skills in support of Agile, Lean, and Digital Trends.  As well as discussing the set of 15 competencies, the summation will tie the new approach around career management for BA’s and discuss how to build on the core skills that current BA’s have and grow them into the new broad skills base expected to evolve in the market.  It will touch on research work, and joint corporate work that IIBA is doing with our corporate partners, and part of our research for our Global Thought Leadership Program.  The presentation is a bit long, and is more about 90 minutes in length, so we will start early, to allow some time for questions, challenges, and discussion as we go.  Hopefully the presentation will change the way you think about your career and your profession.

Ken Fulmer is currently the President and CEO at IIBA.  Prior to taking this role, Ken was the Philadelphia Chapter president, and on the IIBA Intl. Board of Directors.  Ken has been an IT executive at Sunoco, where he was CTO for 10+ years, and was the CIO at Delek (another mid-west oil company).

Ken is the author of several of IIBA publications, and articles, and is leading a major business transformation at IIBA to allow the organization to become more Agile and move its entire IT operations to cloud based Software as a Service.
